I'd recommend that you get a prolactin level done. Increased prolactin decreases production of estrogen, which can mess up your periods. I know; that doesn't explain what caused it, but they can do something about it. BTW I'm not implying that this applies to you, but when I was lactating, they found that I had a tiny benign tumor on my pituitary gland called a prolactinoma. They treat this with a dopamine agonist such as Bromcriptine; it reduces the prolactin and helps regulate your cycle...
