I have found that the ADs I have been on, Luvox and Effexor, have had no effect on my smoking at all!
When I was doing quite well after having been on Luvox for several months, I quit smoking cold turkey. The first two day were horrendous: I had a complete relapse of my symptoms, the Luvox I was taking suddenly "stopped working". But I kept taking the Luvox and suffered it through with much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and after those two days passed, I returned to normal.
If you have the discipline to taper your smoking (I did not), ADs might well be more effective helpers.
Best wishes,
