Generally Effexor takes several weeks to work. That generally means up to two months. In the beginning there may be side effects like nausea and insomnia which should subside in time. But it is an individual thing.
I am taking Effexor XR but only on day 7 (37.5 mg), going to 75 mg tomorrow. It does not seem to be working yet. Although I have had trouble sleeping. Perhaps that is the withdrawal from Celexa however.
