Starting Effexor for ADD, what to expect?

Pdoc just added Effexor to my Lamictal, Remeron and Risperdal for ADD. Has anyone here used Effexor for ADD? How long does it take until it works and how can I expect to feel? Pdoc won't put me on a stimulant since I am bipolar, says it might make me manic.
