Paxil to Effexor - anyone ?

Does anyone take a combo of Effexor and Paxil or switched from Effexor to Paxil ? I found Paxil a good AD but causing a lot of side effects (bruxism, sleepiness, weight gain...) so I went off it. Is it safe ?
Now I am on Effexor 75 mg/d and feel too agitated so a increased dose would be a problem. I was on Effexor 150 mg/d two years ago in combo with Celexa but had to stop it because of persisting headaches ! Tried a lot of other ADs but none was as strong as Paxil. Perhaps I would response a second time to it ? Anyone had this experience ? I heard that you shouldnt change a drug if it works ?! Perhaps there are possibilities to counteract the side effects ?
