Several anticonvulsants out on the market (Klonopin (generic: Clonazepam), Tegretol (generic: carbamazepine) and are also effective mood stabilizers and/or help bipolar, etc. At least according to the PDRs and psychiatrists -- but I suppose it could be true -- Klonopin was not a mood stabilizer for me and I felt it negatively changed my mood so I cold turkeyed it had a grand mal seizure and now am on it again and am to start Tegretol today (they did find a seizure focus on the left front temporal lobe during the EEG this past Monday). I just want to know how Tegretol/Carbamazepine is -- side effects.
