I am curious as to why you would think a manic/depressive individual should take an anti-convulsant medication used to prevent seizures??
I am also less interested in medications with more "harmful" side effects. What has been your experience with side effects on such medications?> I think the addition of carbamazepine or lamotrigine should give you the mood elevation you desire--without the crashes which are common in emotional conditions. Right now I'm getting excellent results with the anticonvulsant tiagabine.

I took 500 mg of serzone for a year and I decided, much to my dr.'s discontent, to stop taking it and now I am.....acting crazy, manic, but having a good time, but having a bad time.....and awaiting the crash...Do I start something new now or wait and see if I will be ok. HMmmmmmmmmmmm
