I am having a HORRIBLE time with INSOMNIA - I cannot fall asleep much before 2-3 am, which then causes me to have to sleep till like noon the following day. I want to *fix* my body clock and had taken Seroquel awhile back for a short time and found it VERY sedating at a *mere* 50 mg. Within a short time of taking it I became woozy, drowsy, had to go to bed and fell asleep pronto.
I'm concerned about adding it to quite a cocktail I'm already on: EffexorXR 150 mg, Klonopin 1mg, Lamictal (in the process of titrating up to the hundreds) and Zyprexa 2.5 mg.
I think that Seroquel is in the same med class as Zyprexa so I'm most concerned about taking both of those at the same time. If I do add Seroquel I'd start with only 25 mg since 50 seemed too much for me (I am sensitive to meds).
The Zyprexa was prescribed for calming and to help me sleep but 2.5 and even 5 does nothing for sleep and 7.5 was too much (it was backfiring and getting me more depressed which I've heard can happen cuz if it makes you sluggish and lethargic like it made me).
So, what do folks here think - would it be okay/safe for me to add a bit of Seroquel to my mix and see if it helps me fall asleep earlier at night so I can wake at an earlier hour in the morning? Thanks.
