I agree. Getting the Essential Fatty Acids from Fish and/or Evening Primrose oil are excellent for depression and overall health.
Another way to get those good ol' omega 3's is with flax. You can use the oil, but even better is to get fresh and preferably refrigerated flax seed and grind them up in a coffee grinder (I combine with sesame seed for calicium), add a wee bit of high mineral sea salt (skip the table salt!) and have a somewhat tasty sprinkle for salads, yogurt, etc.
About a tablespoon a day. And it's cumbersome because you really need to grind fresh each time to preserve the freshness of the omega 3 fatty acids.
Just another idea. Borage oil also has a high concentration of omega 3's, 6's, and the highest GLA. Great for PMS.
The other way to support taking fish and other oils is to cut back on the yucky oils like safflower, corn oil, etc, and of course fried foods, chips, etc. Get those EFA's in a beneficial balance.
