It definitely could be the Lamictal, and do call your pdoc on this one. He may tell you to drop back until the itch passes and titrate more slowly, or at least stay where you are for now. But given the (remote) possibility of a dangerous rash, I'm sure the doc won't think badly of you for calling.
BTW, I had an intense itch on my belly with no visible marks for several months on Lamictal before it went away. The stuff works, though. Good luck wiht it.
