In reply to PAXIL experiences for social phobia depression??, posted by 3 Beer Effect on January 28, 2002, at 2:39:11
Sorry, 3 Beer Effect, but I can't give much help. I found Paxil very effective for my depression & while I don't have social phobia, when I'm depressed, I'm definitely anti-social. Both Paxil & Celexa makes me more sociable.
I take Celexa now (along with adrafinil) & prefer it. Neither Celexa or Paxil had any different effects on my strange sleep patterns one way or the other. I've had those sleep patterns years before I ever started using any meds.
The reason I wanted to quit Paxil is it's very short half-life. Noramlly, I take my meds in the morning & if I ever forgot Paxil, I'd soon realise it as the day wore on by the discontinuation/withdrawal symptoms beginning. That doesn't happen with Celexa.
