Alcohol and it's affects with Long Term Meds

Posted by Simcha on January 25, 2002, at 14:00:31

Folks,

We are having an interesting discussion above on alcohol as a med.

I'd like to know if anyone has any information on what alcohol does to you if you are on these meds for a long-term. My current combo is Celexa, WellbutrinSR, and Klonopin. What are the long-term destructive effects (if any) if I have a drink or two every now and then? (I usually share a bottle of wine with some coworkers once a week. Actually we've missed the past three weeks.)

I have to say that I really feel no need to drink. I'm just concerned because I do like an occasional glass of wine or beer with my dinner. I love how the taste enhances the pleasure of the taste of the meal. I might do this once a week.

So, does anyone have any info on whether or no alcohol damages you while you are on such medication for the long haul?

Thanks in advance,
Simcha.
