I started Remeron at 30 mg. It really knocked me out the first two or three nights. But after that the sedation wasn't too extreme. I eventually raised the dose to 60 mg and felt no sedation at all. I read in another post that around 60 mg Remeron raises norepinephrine high enough to counter the anti-histamine effect. You could always try something like Provigil or adrafanil to help with energy and motivation. When Remeron knocked me out the first few nights I was still able to get up the next day and have sufficient energy. If you are sensitive you could have more sedation than I experienced. So it could be a good idea to ask about something to counter it or maybe just start it on a Friday or weekend so you have time to adjust.
