I just started taking Paxil this week, and am very concerned about weight gain. I gained almost 20 pounds over the last year and a half (depression related?) which only caused me more anxiety. I started running again and have managed to lose most of it, but I worry that gaining weight in order to stop my panic attacks might be somewhat counterproductive! However, I definitely want to try the medication. So my question is -- for the people who have gained weight while taking SSRIs -- how long were you taking the medication before you noticed any significant weight gain? Thanks very much!
