U.S. Regulations are rather lax when it comes to generics. The requirements for bioavailability are feeble. One brand of clonazepam has approximately half of the potency as Klonopin (the name brand). In general I ask my doctor to prescribe the name brand of any medication. It makes titration much easier. Of course I have good insurance and the price difference is small.
