SAD, Light Therapy,Choosing a light box...

Posted by Noa on September 25, 2001, at 18:47:50

Last winter, I promised myself I would get a light box for this autumn. Well here autumn is.

Akeller made a great folder on SAD with links to light box info, etc. and I have been perusing there.

What I would like to know is about anyone's personal experiences with light therapy, what they like or dislike about the particular brand of light box they have, including dawn simulators.

I think I would like a dawn simulator to wake up with in addition to the 10,000 lumens light box. Does anyone have one of the "junior" versions--the travel size ones and is it sufficient to get the light needed in a comfortable manner? Should I try one of the desk lamp versions (advantage might be that I wouldn't have to schedule in a new routine of sitting in front of the light box). Has anyone used one of the desk lamps? Have people found any particular companies good or bad to deal with?

Any personal experience input welcome. Thanks.
