Paxil increase- just terrible- looking for answers

Posted by Margit on September 23, 2001, at 19:33:46

Paxil was a good AD for me in the past and had helped me a lot, until one day I decided to stop (thought I could do it on my own). I crashed though, was titrated to 20mg of Paxil again after several month (tried other ADs, because of the terrible start-up effects), yet the Paxil didn't work. My pdoc upped me to 30mg, which made me worse instead better. I stayed on it for about 3 weeks, but became more and more depressed, indifferen, and numb. He thought that a higher dose would take care of the depression, yet it achieved the opposite. I don't understand. I am down on 20mg again, which isn't helping much. Now he added Zyprexa and Ritalin. My question though is, why did the increase not work? Thanks for any responses.
