Do you have any links on the use of ketoconazole for depression? I understand that even though it`s an antifungal drug it`s used experimentally in depression to lower cortisol levels but I believe it`s a pretty toxic drug. Also since depression and stress increase cortisol levels how do you know which came first? You mentioned having abnormal circadian rhythms and I definitely have that. As long as I can remember I`ve woken up totally exhausted and in almost physical pain from overwhelming depression, no matter how much sleep I`ve gotten, then when I try to go to sleep at night I have severe insomnia (Fortunately I work an evening job as it takes every ounce of will I have to drag myself out of bed at noon.) Is this the type of circadian rhythm problem you have and did the Ketoconazole help it? Also I read somewhere that Tianeptine lowers Cortisol levels, have you tried this?
