Hi JohnL (if you say your name the way it's spelled on here, it kinda rhymes with mine - LOL!) ... anyway, THANKS so much for your reply.
I'm SOOOOOO relieved that I'm not the only one having these "hangover" feelings the morning after taking Zyprexa for sleep. I was getting a bit concerned. And I'm "relieved" to hear that what helps me (COFFEE, at least two cups of full strength!) is also what you've found to help you. I'm able to eat breakfast before having my coffee, though!
Interesting and helpful what you mentioned about the intensity of Remeron, Serzone, Trazodone, benzos, or tricyclics, especially REMERON and SERZONE because I'm going off EffexorXR (too activating) and was going to try one of the more sedating a-d's (either Remeron or Serzone), but with the drowsy/hangover feeling from Zyprexa, the last thing I need is more sedation in my "cocktail."
Plus, my pdoc thinks that when I get up to a decent dosage of Lamictal (mood stabilizer) I will not even need any a-d! That would be a major "accomplishment"!! I hope she is right.
As much as I also dislike the Zyprexa hangover feeling, it is really just a minor nuisance compared to other possible side effects from other meds. Thanks to your input especially, I can "relax" now (no pun intended!) and just accept feeling drowsy after a full night's sleep and drink some coffee. I happen to love coffee, especially flavored ones! Thanks again,
-Janelle
