In reply to Wellbutrin and muscles?, posted by grendel on September 1, 2001, at 2:37:30
GHB.....why? anyway, to answer your question...
Wellbutrin is not a dopamine agonist, nor does it directly inhibit reuptake of dopamine. "It's presumed that its antidepressant action is mediated by noradrenergic and/or dopaminergic mechanisms" (Glaxo Wellcome). As far as weight loss-muscle building, as long as you reduce your caloric intake accordingly, you will surely lose weight. I have been taking WB for a few years, I lift weights (bench and curls). I went from 195 to 163 in 18 months, yet still press same amount of weights. Very low body-fat index. Nice and lean. At almost 42, I am in the best physical shape of my life. What this means for you? Hard to say. But do us all a favor and leave the street drugs to those with a death wish.PAX
