Hi there Firebabe,
I do not believe dividing a capsule will ruin its effectiveness. It may have some effect on how fast it is absorbed into your system. Redirect this question to CAM, because he is very knowledgeable in this particular type of question. As far as Remeron kicking your ass, that doesn't surprise me. I was on 7.5mg for over a year, and it never stopped kicking my ass the whole time. I was up to 60mg at one time, but it was just too much. It took the legs right out from under me. I could hardly walk. But at 7.5mg luckily the grogginess went away after my first coffee or two and then I was fine the rest of the day. It never did help me though. The main reason I took it was to konk me out fast at bedtime. It can indeed be a real ass-kicker. I noticed that the smaller the dose I took, the stronger it was as a sedative. The larger the dose, it still retained sedativeness but also had some activation mixed in, if that makes any sense. But it just wasn't a drug my body could ever get used to. Some people have done well with it, so I hope it goes good for you. If you ever need a milder yet more effective substitute, you might consider Zyprexa. That's what I did. Zyprexa is tons better than Remeron, and considerably milder in side effects.
John> I am unable to get EffexorXR 75 mg from my Ins. So, in order for me to get 225mg, I am having to take one 150mg cap and HAVE TO DIVIDE A 150MG CAPSULE. Is it true that if you open the EffexorXR capsules, that it will alter the effectiveness?

> Remeron: IT KICKED MY ASS! I took 15mg before bed last night for sleep (that is why the doc prescribed it) and i woke up totally groggy and kinda stoned. Is that normal??
