Hello, I am new to this board. i've done a lot of searching and I am very impressed with the caliber of the individuals posting here. Is there some link between depression and a high IQ??
I need help with medications. I guess I have GAD with some atypical depression. I have always been a very anxious person and after the birth of my two children the irritability started with a lack of interest on most things I previously enjoyed. My husband thinks its hormonal, but thats another discussion.
My MD tried Zoloft 50mg and it made me absolutely insane - mind racing, no sleep. I just wanted to curl up in a fetal position. Called my MD and she told me to stop and go see Psydoc. He says my body metabolizes these drugs in a funny way and I need to take very small dosages.
He tried me on Zoloft 6.25mg (cut the pills) per day. Still didn't work mind still racing and slowly increasing anxiety.
Next Wellbutrin SR, low dosage. Mind racing, "tingling in my temples", anger, irritation.
Next Buspar, 15mg. This actually worked somewhat for a couple of months. I stopped screaming at everyone all the time and my mood lifted a little. The only side effect was dizziness about 30 min after taking it.
Suddenly the Buspar stopped working so Dr. suggested increasing the Buspar and taking Zyprexa 2.5 mg a night. Now I have a very hard time getting out of bed in the morning and I get up on the "wrong side of the bed" to but it mildly. Nasty, irritable.
Is this the wrong combination? Should I try to tough it out. Can my family take it? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
