In regard to the zyprexa - it has been good for him but he is now suffering from severe anxiety that the drs think may be related to the high dose of the zyprexa. They are having him reduce the dose slowly to see if the anxiety dissipates and to make sure that the lithium can keep him stable without the zyprexa. Dr said that apparently sometimes it is like a switch has been thrown and lowering the dose does not lower the anxiety. We will see! The zyprexa has been a miracle drug for his sleep problems.
It does sound a little suspicious that the drug company came up with this weight gain fix. Maybe it was just a placebo effect but it seemed to help him.
