After reading some of the few abstracts available on Medline about aripiprazole, I would not expect it to be much of an adjunct for depression (simplistic guess), but it makes for a novel way to approach schizophrenia as it acts as an agonist at presynaptic dopamine autoreceptors in addition to the usual antagonism of postsynaptic receptors.

I called them and got the name of local clinic doing the trials but it involves a 24 day hospital stay and they use a placebo (which is why you are probably hospitalized) That is not for me, but maybe others are interested. Take care- JudyAripiprazole worked in 9 days for depression in me (I think). I'm waiting for the mania to come now. A little tremor in hands left over from the residual lithium.
Aripiprazole has reduced the mania too and I am genuinely able to feel happiness and optimism even though I am out of a job right now.
Plus, aripiprazole doesn't cause weight gain, I've heard.
Sorry for sounding like a commercial for aripiprazole but it is the best medicene I've taken in a long time.
