This is a hard one. I don't think it is a normal desire, like you are thirsty so you get a drink of water. My mother takes a prescribed antacid for a hernia in her throat, as soon as she's doing good she tries to cut the medication. She has a difficult time talking without the meds. Even after three years she still yaps about skipping days.

I use a buddy system for my meds, my father reminds me to take them and I remind him. The thing about our meds if we crash it affects our whole being.

I can't comment on your combination because I'm not familiar with them, but I know when the heat was up north here I was tempted to play around with my medication thinking that they were the cause of my discomfort, but in reality I think everyone was suffering.
