Hi adamie--

I am *not* an expert, but have had a number of med-related allergic rashes. What you described sounds much more like some sort of contact reaction than a systemic (whole body) response to an ingested substance. Med-induced rashes are more wide-spread, are *not* one-sided, and are more likely to be itchy than painful. Many times (but not always) they take the form of hives (fingernail-sized or larger, raised, itchy blots). If you have no red marks anywhere on your trunk, and the red marks on your right hand do not spread to your left side, it's hard to see how the cause could be internal.

Well wishes---medlib
