possible rash from effexor

Posted by adamie on August 9, 2001, at 18:47:57

hi. this is my second day taking effexor at 37.5mg. An hour ago I was reaching for my mouse to try and do some research on anti depressants and I noticed a pain in my palm. like a pain of when your skin would be burnt. like say from a hot stove. that type of skin pain which has mostly gone away now. also there is redness on the upper right quater of my palm. before it was more red than it is now. and it seemed to be a red spreading all over that area. now it's more like 9 red spots. some bigger than others. my other hand seems to have no problems. is this what one would consider a rash?

if it is then i guess i am allergic to something in effexor. if I am allergic then such rashes would keep on occuring if i kept on taking effexor correct? so then I could see if this is in fact a rash or not. i will show my mom the spots on my hand tonight. I have already called and told her about this. she said she will have a look and I may have to change meds. I was hoping to see how effexor will work in the coming weeks since it is supossed to be fast acting and have higher remission rates than other anti depressants but maybe I wont be able to take it. perhaps this thing with my hand is just something else than a rash. I dont know exactly what a rash is. Looking it up in the dictionary states that it's a skin eruption with redness. thanks for reading.
