Originally, when I switched from Prozac to Effexor I was on 37.5 mg only for the longest time. Then in Feb '00 I had eye laser surgery and for some reason had a relapse in my depression...I had to go up to 150 mg in order for it to take effect....In the summer '00 I stupidly halved my Effexor to 75 mg and crashed BIG time...I had to go up to 225mg!!!! for it to work. I was OK for a while until I had appendicitis in Mar'01 and relapsed again (not so bad this time but with a lot of obsessive thinking) and had to increase to 300mg Effexor!!!!!. From that point until today, I never got back 100%.
