Ritalin and increased depression ?

Can Ritalin increase depression ? I am trying Ritalin (5-10 mg) to 30 mg Paxil because I am very tired of Paxil. I feel some worsening of depression (sadness, motivation..) but I am not sure if its from the Ritalin or just a mood swing (i am unipolar perhaps bipolar II) of which I had severals.
