I find that meditation is useful. I also find that counting to ten then taking long deep breaths helps. Also it is important to have people I can call while I'm having a panic attack. I have friends in my 12-step groups who have helped me back from the edge.
These are some of the non-medicating ways I've tried to manage my anxiety. My pdoc prescribes ADs fot it doo.
