Jane - I bet you are right - that 50 mg is the "minimal" dose for Lamictal to work on mood disorders (if so, man, have I got a long way to go, titrating up from a mere 4 mg - I'll ask my pdoc if I can do it a bit more after this initial "test" to make sure I don't get a rash!)
Thanks for the link - I will use it. I know of a site called medscape.com which ties into medline, but your link sounds more direct. Thanks!
To answer your question - from what I've seen on the Net I think you are also right that the lower doses of Lamictal (2 mg, 5 mg, and I think there may be a 10mg) are just in the sample packs. My doc gave me samples of 2 mg because she didn't have any 5's.
It is my impression that 25 is the lowest dose available for sale.
Thanks for cluing me in about being able to continue continue old threads even after the board has been archived by adding a follow up to one of the old posts. I thought it would just appear on the OLD page, so I'm glad to hear that it will automatically appear on the new page and also will contain links at the bottom to the old posts - that's great! I have noticed some post topics on the new page that sounded familiar and now realize that they are what you described (continuations of archived threads!) Thank you again for all your info!
