Re: Prozac, Alcohol, and Weight Gain

I am a very light drinker and on 40 mg of Prozac. If you keep it light; a glass or two at most of wine, or one drink [hard liquor] you should be fine. You can always drink more, but my friend on Prozac for years had too much wine one night and she was a mess. Prozac is generally weight neutral for about 75% of users. I've lost 5 lbs. Some people gain a little [a few may gain a lot]. However, Prozac curbs your appetite a little if you don't get carried away [for most, not all people]. My friend on Prozac over 10 years has not gained weight. She takes Dsyerel [Trazodone] at night for sleeping. Hope this helps.
