In reply to Neurontin sufficient for BPD/ replacement for lith » storm, posted by Lin on April 22, 2001, at 16:47:36
I'm really sorry I didn't see you posted earlier. I'm on 900 mg of lithium and only 1200 mg of neurontin. from what I've read, it seems like you need both drugs in combination to work that well. but I am not completely sure about that. for myself, I'm not taking a chance and going to just the neurontin, it's been like a miracle for me; I can't take a chance. but I think that of all the drugs I have tried it is interesting that neurontin would work so well. I had given up on concentration completely. best wishes, Christy
> What doses of each are you on? I am on 1200 mg lithium and 2400 mg Neurontin. I have bipolar AND temporal lobe epilepsy. I am wondering if I can replace the lithium altogether with the Neurontin. Do you know anything about this?

I am probably more greatful for that than any other med I've taken. the mania I feel is very little now; my mind doesn't keep spinning like it used to.
