Lilly,

I have tried all three and found Adderall to provide the best lift from depression, excessive daytime sleepiness and concentration difficulty. There is also not the "crash" involved with Ritalin.

Since you are concerned about the "controlled substance" issue, I think the most important thing is not to increase the dose on your own, thinking "more is better." I never found it necessary to increase the dose. I am coming off it now because of less need for it with the mood stabilizers working (I am bipolar) and finding the titration downward to be very smooth and easy.
