Adderall/Ritalin/Provigil

I would like to hear from people who have tried all three of these meds for ADD and/or depression and/or excessive daytime sleepiness and how they responded to them. I have been diagnosed with depression and sleep apnea and have tried I have tried all three. Ritalin was awful. Adderall and Provigil both helped, but Adderall was better for me. Even though I have a doctor's prescription for Adderall, I am concerned because it is a controlled substance.
