I've been taking amytriptiline for a couple of months and was very tired and lethargic but it seems to be getting better. I didn't know until reading Cam's response to you that it could have been the amytriptiline causing it. Thanks for bringing this up, I feel better now too.
I wish you the best of luck with the amytriptiline. It does still make me quite sleepy but I get around that by only taking it at night. If I take it too late at night, i'm groggy in the morning so try to take it at least 2 hours before bedtime.

> IJM - Yes, the amitriptyline will make you groogy and lethargic, especially for the first month, during dose titration. This is due to the blocking of histamine H-1 receptors and muscarinic/anticholinergic M-1 receptors. Most people to adjust to these side effects, but the adjustment to these start-up side effects takes longer with the TCAs (like amitriptyline) than with the SSRIs (like Paxil or even Effexor).
