Hi, I'm new here but wanted to let you know about topamax, lamictal and neurontin. I'm bipolar and on these three drugs that have done wonders for me. I rapid cycle which makes my life a little hectic at times but the lamictal really helps my depression ( I take 200mg ) and the topamax ( 600mg) just balances things out altogether. I just went into a major manic cycle and was put on neurontin but I've been on it before so I know it works for my mania. I'm on 2400mg of it It just slows me right down and helps me sleep. I read in an earlier not that people were afraid that topamax would make you go "stupid" but I haven't found that to be the case. I work as a paramedic and have to be on the ball. Some times I have severe anxiety for which I uses relaxation exercises or if all else fails I take 1 mg of clonazepam. Well I hope this sheds some light on these newer meds and gives some hope to some of you folk. I'll keep my eye out for some more information and pass it along. Take care, Rebecca
