> The reason I ask is every AD I have taken has propelled me into a hypomanic or manic episode (prozac was the worst). If you are stable with this regime- great. Is klonopin the only mood stabilizer you use? If so, I'm jealous. No, I never get sedated from klonopin- I've been at this dose for about 3 years. Like I said, it doesn't work if I'm manic (although routinely it keeps panic attacks at bay). Because I am so tolerant of benzos, I have to take increased doses of antipsychotics when manic. Take care, Judy
Judy,
Thanks so much for your responses. About six years ago is when I started taking any kind of medication. I was wanting to give up binge drinking, which seem to occur every couple of months. Back then I was put on Prozac for a couple of years. You are right, it always made me more panciky and anxious. Finnaly I had a manic episode, and it was then that I was diagnosed as been Bipolar. But fear, panic and anxiety it's what has always gotten to me the worst. I have been sober for six years now and that's great, I think that's where the AD's help.
I was put back on Prozac and Ativan later on and that seem to work ok, ecxept that I need more and more Ativan. I was finnally taken off of Prozac and put on Serzone + Ativan, but was way too lethargic. That's how I am now on Celexa + Klonopin, but nothing else. Sorry for the long story.Kind Regards,
Nic
