I can't take it. Dizzy and off Effexor for month.

Posted by Demi on January 21, 2001, at 10:58:19

I took Effexor for just about a year and took 150 mg at the peak of my use. Several months ago, I attempted to get off the drug and weaned myself off according to doctor's recommendations. I was so intolerably dizzy that I cried and missed work until I started taking the drug again. I decided to wean myself off more slowly, but it took two months to work up the courage to do it again. I am now off the medication and have been so for maybe over a month now. The problem is: I am still dizzy and I can't stand it. I am dizzy every day. In fact, I'm dizzy right now composing this posting. I feel especially dizzy when I exert myself (exercise), when I lay in bed or otherwise repose, I feel dizzy when I come into a heated room, and numerous other instances. I just can't take it. Will this ever go away? I fear that this drug has altered my brain's chemistry forever. Is that possible? Is anyone experiencing dizziness after being off Effexor for at least a month, and are not taking another drug in its place? Someone please help. I am so angry about this I feel hostile and depressed all the time.
