I believe that is true. However, if you tend to be someone prone to addictive behavior, you should monitor yourself carefully. If you find yourself taking doses early, adding doses, taking more than the prescribed dose, etc., then there is probably cause for concern.

I have been taking stim. meds for a few years with no problems. With short acting Ritalin, I did not get addicted, but could see how someone might because the peaks and valleys were pronounced and the low feeling when the med wore off was not pleasant. It was a bit better with Ritalin SR, but it is far better with Adderall.
