Effects nor-e and 5ht to some extent, or it would not be a TCA. Histine systems have no AD effects. Is sedating, but not as much as doxipin. I switched from doxipin (the most sedating) to Surmontil as the effects on NT's are close to the same while it has less sedation. I was also looking for less of a flattened effect.
Somewhat sucessful in this reguard. Was using it as a augment to Effexor.

I found Remeron to be a better choice, close to a TCA, without AM sedation or flattened effect.
