> I am tying amisulpride for my dysthymia. It's been about five days now on 100mg/day. Not too encouraging yet. Since the few things that have helped in the past began working emediately, I am not very optomistic. How are other people doing on this med? Thanks.I really like Amisulpride. I can feel it on day one...not much though...but a little. It's almost like a very tiny dose of a mild stimulant maybe. But at least I didn't get worse right away like I did with so many other things. Anyway, I really didn't notice that it had started working significantly until about the beginning of week 3.
Amisulpride for my dysthymia worked fairly well...not perfect...but definitely a notch better than SSRIs and stuff. It wasn't until I took Amisulpride plus Adrafinil together that I experienced stunning improvement. Much better than either alone. It's almost like they both turbocharge each other. Since you're already into the foreign meds arena, you might want to check out Adrafinil. It's cheap and easy to get if you were interested.
In clinical trials Amisulpride was tested head-to-head against Prozac. Response rates were similar. Incidents of side effects were similar as well, though the side effects differed quite a bit from one to the other. Anyway, it's been 5 days now? You may want to set your sights on about 25 more days. I know how hard it is, but try to be patient. And if at any time you want to try something to kick the Amisulpride in the ass, keep Adrafinil in mind. Of course though, what works well for me might not be right for someone else.
