canker sores-on new med - PAIN!

Help!
I started on Topamax one week ago, am now up to 100mgm a day
Also take Effexor 300mgm daily and Seroquel 300mgm daily. On Monday I developed a
"sore mouth". I kind of ignored it as it was a busy day.
By Tuesday my tongue was so swollen that I sounded like a moron when
I tried to talk! I got some over the counter stuff
but by this morning I had gone through three tubes of it.
Today I called my Primary care doc and he prescribed Lidocain 2%
in Benedryl. SOME relief at last! I use it every three
hours and it seems to last almost that long. I might have had ONE
canker sore or two when I was younger, but come on, I
counted seven this morning! And I'm 57 years old!! Has any one
out there experienced anything like this? I ruled out
acid in the diet and gastic acid reflux disease-- stress?
no more than normal. So........could it be the med? Any and all
support gratefuly appreciated. Maribeth
