I was given Celexa for anxiety and it made it ten times worse but my doc said I should stick it out and I'm glad I did. My experience with Celexa:
Week 1: Severe anxiety hits you like a brick wall - especially panic and obsessive thoughts.
Week 2: Side effects of nausia, headaches (how they hurt!!!!) and shakiness - anxiety lessened.
Week 3: Started to feel better and anxiety went except panic remained but felt more positive.
Week 4: Anxiety and panic almost completely gone and I am quite fearless - phobias seem laughable now but side effects have also lessened except for a very stiff neck and jaw.
Week 5: Side effects gone, anxiety gone, panic attacks almost surface but not quite. However, it all feels quite near the surface.
Week 6: Feel great - just depleted and a little worrisome at times. Glad I stuck it out.Best of luck! Celexa is best started on a half dose for first week or two and then increased when used for anxiety, Does work though.
