Husband does not understand depression

Posted by Christine E. on October 11, 2000, at 22:28:45

I am new to this but I thought maybe someone would respond to me- maybe help. I have been married 11 years and have had numerous health problems during this time. I have had hypothyroidism the last 10 years and suffered 5 miscarriages (we do however have 2 children) I have had bouts of depression off and on and finially in the last few years have tried to get help for it. I don't know how to let my husband help me. He is not a very communicative man and not very observant. I cannot get him to understand that what I am going through( the last few months have been hell) I cannot get through with out him. He really makes it worse by acting like he does not see a problem. I think he thinks I can just snap out of it, I can't take it anymore with him. He thinks he is being supportive but is in no way helping me. Please- if any one can give me some advice.
Christine
