I do not have any experience with Topamax. But I do know from a lot of reading and research that all of the anticonvulsants (Topamax, Tegretol, Depakote, Dilantin) have the potential to successfully treat a variety of conditions other than just epilepsy. They are well known for example in treating mania and/or depression. They have also been helpful in treating neurological pain, as in your case. They can also treat tinnitus (ringing in the ears). That's something I'm looking at. Which one of them might work best is a guess. You just have to try and compare. Topamax is as good a place as any to start. I think I've seen the most research for Tegretol and pain, however. In any case, yes, any of these could be helpful for your pain. I send my best wishes that Topamax will be the one! :)
