I would like to second the idea of a therapist. A good one will work with you not only on why your thinking has taken the track it has but also how to change it. My "guess" (and I stress this is just a guess) is that you might want to be open to the idea of drug intervention. Because the current crisis has been brought on by a specific action it is most probable that with therapy you can recover and change your way of thinking. But meanwhile a good perscription might make the process easier and just get you over the hump for the first few months. A therapist can work with you and help make that decision. They can't perscribe but they can recommend you go see a doctor about a perscription if its really necessary. I believe that the best success rates combine both therapy and medicine. There's no need to spend this time of your life miserable, get some help. I wish I had done it when I was younger, I could have saved myself a lot of grief.
