Indeed the feedback loop is known but the cause of depression is not.
If the cause should be a defficiency in utilization of tyrosine or some
precursor then supplementation may give you the push you need. This has
not been the case with most people but it does not mean it won't help anyone.
As I'm sure we've all seen individual reactions to drugs, supplements etc..
varies by the person. I have tried tyrosine, phenylalanine, inosine,
and others. I can honestly say that tyrosine or phenylalanine on an empty stomach
has a short lived (15 minute) stimulatory effect on me. Not enough to compare to
Prozac but it can be an extra push to get moving in the mornings.
