I have to agree with St James. After much experimentation with amino acids, I found them to be useless.

There are some pieces of literature out there that really make amino acids like tyrosine look so promising. Especially a the websites that sell them! :-) But in reality, we hardly ever hear of anyone who has had success with them. Even when there is success, it tends to be short lived.

No matter how much tyrosine you take, there is a natural feedback mechanism that will limit how much is actually used by the body. The excess is discarded as waste. Your body will take what it needs and throw away the rest.
