> We have client who have been getting prescriptions from their psychiatrists for newer medications (Luvox, Zyprexa) and unfortunately their insurance companies will not cover the expense (sometimes $500 per month or more). In addition, because they are new there is no generic version. Does anyone know any way to circumvent this problem?
>James here....
1) ask hmo to allow non-formulary meds, I do this
Has to be done on a med by med, patient by patient basis.2) speak to drug reps or www.themedicineprogram.com for reduced price meds
